Matt Mendoza, 43, born and raised in Whittier, CA., Has always had an eye for creativity. Growing up immersed in the vibrant skateboarding and hip-hop culture of Los Angeles, he found early inspiration in the energy and colors of the city streets. Initially, photography was just Matt’s hobby, capturing moments from his urban surroundings.

However, his passion for the art form deepened when he began assisting a fashion photographer in LA, honing his skills in lighting and composition. Through this experience, he found himself working on prestigious editorials for Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue magazines, where he discovered photography’s power as a storytelling medium.

Matt’s artistic influences extend beyond photography. He draws inspiration from the works of Salvador Dali and Frida Kahlo. Their bold use of color and surreal imagery resonate deeply with him, influencing his own approach to photography.

Today, Matt is known for his distinctive style, characterized by vibrant colors, in-camera effects, and captivating compositions. With his keen eye and mastery of lighting techniques, he transforms ordinary scenes into extraordinary works of art, capturing the essence of his subjects in striking and evocative ways.
