Herbrockone, a photographer based in Los Angeles, CA, began his journey in high school, shooting with disposable and point-and-shoot cameras purely for fun. As an avid skater and graffiti enthusiast, he captured moments of his friends engaged in both activities. Inspired by Martha Cooper, he pursued photography at Santa Monica College (SMC).
Eventually, Herbrockone’s interests shifted to the motorsport scene, causing him to set aside his camera in favor of tires, parts, and track trips. However, in 2015, he rekindled his passion for photography, transitioning to digital and focusing on street and landscape photography, emphasizing portraiture. Seeking inspiration, he immersed himself in the local art scene, attending art shows, photo exhibits, and art walks whenever possible.
During the pandemic, after being laid off, Herbrockone took on side gigs as a second shooter for commercial work and as a school portrait photographer. His dedication and talent have led to participation in three notable group shows and one solo exhibition, with a standout group show at Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum at Compton Airport in May 2021.
Herbrockone’s ongoing project, Double Take, involves photographing the same stranger by random coincidence, showcasing his unique approach and keen eye. A passionate fan of photography, he takes pictures with his phone and takes photographs with his camera.
