Urban Lens Gallery DTLA

ABOUT

Our Story

Formerly known as The Little Easy, Urban Lens Gallery is a dynamic space dedicated to photographers who capture the diverse perspectives of urban landscapes and the myriad people who inhabit them. Located in Los Angeles’ Historic Core, the gallery celebrates photographic expressions that tell the rich and varied stories of urban life.

The gallery initially hosted solo exhibitions by Rene Rodriguez and Aaron Tredwell. Rene’s exhibition, titled “Take a Walk with Me through the City of Lost Souls,” was curated by Emiliano López. This collaboration among artists was a melding of shared visions and experiences. The exhibition documents Rene’s view of Los Angeles as marked by poverty and addiction yet filled with glimmers of hope.

Emiliano López, a Los Angeles-based artist and activist, helped shape the narrative, ensuring that the stories and emotions captured in Rene’s photographs were conveyed with clarity and impact. This exhibition achieved Rene’s goal of having a solo show; it is now a shared space for photographers who capture urban life.

At Urban Lens Gallery, we continue contributing to the vibrant community of artists and activists. The gallery serves as a space where Emiliano and Rene’s collaborative efforts bring to light the complexities and beauty of urban life, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse narratives that make up the city.
